Upgrades to items are an essential element of enhancing your character. Upgrades boost the base damage and the enchantments of items.

They also offer rewards and upgrades. They are available through the Blacksmith.

The upgrade button is available on any item. Each Best item upgrade recycled adds a level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapon

When a weapon is upgraded, it is granted a base damage bonus as well as an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects and others provide additional features. These upgrades can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets. Most require that the item upgrader mod is equipped with an upgrade slot and meets certain specifications. Once a weapon or armor piece is equipped with an upgrade component it, it can be replaced with another however the previous upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be recovered using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, Ascended Salvage tool, or a higher-tier salvaging tool on an item.

In addition to the basic upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded using the Calibration Attribute which improves certain stats, such as Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This can be done through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be done four times based on the weapon's level.

When the weapon is at the maximum level of upgrade, it may be rebuilt using a variety of different types of upgrades to increase specific stats or to add bonuses and effects. All of these upgrades can be used simultaneously and the effects depend on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area, and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons, and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the type of damage that a weapon inflicts.

In general, it is recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, then armour defense, then the other secondary stats as required by your build. In particular, it's common to see melee druids upgrade their weapon before they upgrade any other gear, as this will increase DPS. This is especially relevant for enchantments that boost a weapon's stats and damage.

Armor

Item Upgrades let players enhance the base stats of certain armor pieces trinkets, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. These upgrades can also bring additional effects, such as additional damage or cosmetic enhancement. Item upgrades can be obtained through crafting, buying from NPC vendors, in loot drops, or as rewards from quests.

The armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currencies. Most armor upgrades to the next level following an upgrade. The majority of armor types can be upgraded, but certain items (such as the starter armour in Great Sky Island) cannot.

Most armor upgrades increase the item's strength or defense by only a tiny amount. However, certain upgrade components can provide significant enhancements to strength or defense, particularly when upgrading an epic item.

Depending on the type of armor being used, upgrading an item may require multiple attempts. If a player wants to upgrade Steelclash armor to Dragonscale, then the first attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor that has an armor base defense of 59-67. The second attempt would result in a new Dragonscale armor that has an initial defense of 67-77, and so on.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To upgrade their armor players must visit the four Great Fairy Fountains that are located in the game. Each of these locations houses a powerful fairy who can upgrade a piece of armor for the player.

Contrary to popular opinion, armor in The Division 2 is not useless. Certain armors give a substantial increase in the ability to reduce damage caused by poison or curse, magic or fire. This makes them very valuable for certain types of builds. There are other ways to boost the stats of armor besides upgrading the armor, for instance using the engineer trait to increase armor penetration or the challenger trait to decrease the total weight.

Potion

By placing a potion on a stand for brewing, you will be able to unlock new effects. The upgrade opens a different effect tier, and is able to be repeated to increase the potency.

The potions also have the ability to select a custom color that can be set by the player via the /give. The color will affect the area-of-effect clouds as well as the arrows that are generated. In Bedrock Edition the custom potion colour also applies to the particle effects of the potions.

Upgrades to this trinket cost a moderate amount energy.

This enchanted Scepter's magic seems to alter the dungeon's environment by increasing the probability of generating grass and water. This trinket, at its current level will cause X% of regular floors to be filled with grass or water. It does not alter glyphs, enchantments, cursed weapons or armor or items that are produced to aid in the elimination of danger rooms.

Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after completing the Mastery Cave. You can find them by defeating Monsters and chests and crates. They aren't found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

Place the trinket in the Anvil whenever it is required to be upgraded. This will have an effect on the trinket which is random, either increasing or strengthening its effects. You can reforge an item as many times as you like, but it will always have an impact that is different from the one it was when you forged it.

You can also enhance your Trinkets by placing them in a Magical Catalyst located at the Alchemy Station. This will cost 6 energy, however it will increase the power of the trinkets by a tiny amount.
