1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has best self cleaning vacuum-emptying features. This makes the i3+ an excellent option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin as it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It can get stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dust bin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is depleted it will return to its docking station, automatically empties its dirt into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 automatic floor cleaner plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot cleaner amazon via the app or by voice.

In our tests, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin, which removes a major source of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. We were able, once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of vacuums that are cordless and feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an automobile. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adjusted to the task. It is able to swiftly switch between handheld and floor automatic vacuum cleaner, and vice versa.

This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in about 3.5 hours and provides easy access to two attachments as well as the wand clip. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. It's still enough time to vacuum the majority of a home that's average size however, it's not enough to get every single area (though a second run-through usually does the trick). One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up most types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice addition.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently will run out of battery before making it back to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower recurring cost and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, as it has a better battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand, comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and performs better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings and many more. The app is simple to use and understand as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than some of the other models we've tested, which might be a deal-breaker for some buyers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access through the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you to check in on your pets or children while you're away. The filter and dustbin are washable to make cleanup quick and easy.
