Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule

The official list below outlines the time slots that are reserved - not confirmed exams. Please check with your instructor whether or not your course will be taking its final exam during this period.

Locations

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers a "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to discover their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for the courses that are required to take an exam as per NYSED regulations. For evening classes final exams are scheduled at the regular class time during the final week of the exam.

Registration

Students are encouraged to look up the exam schedule online. It is important to keep in mind that the final schedule of exams may change at any moment. Students should therefore check with their instructors to confirm the exact time and date of their exam. Students should also be sure to print the official list and bring it with them for their exams.

Students must also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and conditions of the exam in addition to the schedule. They are available on the website for each exam. Students acknowledge having read and agreed to the terms and conditions of registration.

Exam locations make every effort to accommodate those with special requirements. The nature and extent of these needs must be declared on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. In addition the locations for the exam must be kept confidential.

If a student is scheduled to take three exams scheduled for the same day, it is recommended that they contact their department or instructor to schedule an alternate exam. Although it is possible to take three tests in one day, this can cause an increase in stress levels and could affect the quality of the exam. Additionally, the professor may not be able to conduct a makeup test on a different day.

Before taking the test, students must prepare by studying the study material and practice their German skills. The test is a paper-based test which assesses the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The examination results are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has attained the level of A1 in their language. This level is the first stage of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of cost. Students must bring a valid government issued ID to the test. Anyone who does not have an ID with a valid photo are disqualified from the exam.

Fees

If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat kurs na kategorię a1 (start German 1), you'll need to pay the examination fee. This fee is in addition the course fees.
