1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent alternative for those who want a an entirely automated cleaning, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.

Both robots are proficient in removing dirt and dust particles on carpets and hard floors and are able to maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It can be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin clean to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It has self cleaning vacuum cleaner-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

In our tests the i7+ was more agile and faster than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room, and even vacuum the area. However, it isn't equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to move its own. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy and has a stronger motor, and works better on bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation options.

However, it wasn't particularly well in avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a deal breaker for some buyers.
