Choosing a Double Pushchair TwinYou need a double stroller to transport your twins from A to B. Our range of twin prams pushchairs prams pushchairs includes twin buggies that are able to be set up in a variety of ways to meet your needs.
Choose a stroller that folds in one step and is easy to lift into your car. You may also prefer an ultra-light design that is easy to navigate and manoeuvre especially if you have busy streets to navigate.Side-by-Side
They are the most commonly used type of double pushchair, and usually can accommodate two children in a row. They tend to be wider than single pushchairs travel systems. This makes them less agile on the footpaths. It can also be difficult to navigate between kerbs when an automobile seat is installed. The extra size allows them to move more easily through doors and also more evenly distributed, so it is less burdensome on your back.
They can be used as a twin pram from birth, and many models can accommodate a carrycot or 2 car seats. Some models can be converted to one-mode with a basket on the side (like the Cybex Venus).
One of the most impressive examples of this is the Bugaboo Donkey 5 which, in Twin Mode, allows you to place the rear seat and a carrycot side-by-side. This creates a totally enclosed space for twins, and is perfect for babies. This pram comes with some amazing accessories, like the newborn cocoons, which can be put on either facing toward the forward direction or in any direction (for twin-facing cheap prams). It's not as light as other options, but it's extremely well-thought out.
Lightweight
Cybex is known for its ingenuity, and this single-to-double pushchair is no exception. The frame can be enlarged to accommodate another seat. It is possible to use the pushchair as twins from birth by putting in two cocoons for babies, each costing PS59. These cocoons create enclosed lie-flat spaces. The large shopping basket behind the seat lets it be used in mono mode for a single child. It has both front and rear suspension that allows it to handle bumps and uneven surfaces more easily. Our reviewers chose this car as their top choice.
Available in a variety stylish colors.
Tandem
If you are planning to have twins, you'll require a tandem pushchair. This allows both children to sit together and see each one another. They are great for trips to the zoo as the children can look at the animals together. These are also great for parents who wish to monitor both their toddler and their baby at the same time.
Some tandem pushchairs are very adaptable, as they can be converted back to single mode. This is particularly beneficial if you plan to have more children than two (or if your eldest child does not require an extra buggy). This will save you from having to store an empty buggy which can be expensive.
The Cybex Venus, for example can be used in double or mono mode. Its frame can expand to accommodate an additional seat. It's not the lightest pushchair however it does come with a large basket that can be set behind the front seat when in double mode or in the back when it's in mono mode. The seats can be placed so that they face each other, or one could be placed higher so that it can look over the other and see what they're up to.
Other double tandem pushchairs like the Joolz Geo 3 can seat one on top prams of the other or side-by-side. The slim, sleek frame makes it easier to navigate through doorways and aisles in supermarkets. Some models can be used on uneven terrain, or for a jogging walk thanks to their wide rear wheels and four-wheel suspension.
A tandem pushchair could also be used to carry two carrycots or a car with a buggy seat. This allows you to create an entire travel system from the outset and save money on additional purchases. Be aware that tandems are heavier and longer, and can appear less stable when bumping into kerbs or navigating uneven surfaces. They also tend to need dismantling to fit into cars.
