Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot bed wood-bed isn't cheap, but it is stylish and well made. It is easy to assemble, but it does require two people. It looks beautiful in any nursery. The panel we used was a fan of the dark wood and the dowel sides, and it's robust enough to be used until your baby is a toddler. It also complies with British safety standards. The depth isn't that deep that your child can climb out and the distance between the slats should not be more than 65mm, which will prevent the head from getting stuck. It's worth bearing in mind that you will need to purchase a mattress separately and that's an extra PS88.

This cot stands out due to of its sleigh-shaped design. It's also very easy to get your baby in and out, which is another big plus. It's a little more expensive than other cot-beds, but our panel thought it was worth the cost for the looks and durability.

The cot bed is available in country pine or walnut finishes. It can be used from the moment of birth. It comes with three mattress heights, so that you can start your baby high to make it easier for them to be accessed during the day or night. Then lower it as they grow older. It has teething rails to protect your child's furniture and gums. Once your child grows out of their cot bed, you can easily change it into a junior mattress, and then to a couch.

The westport design by Silver Cross is another wooden cot bed that is sturdy and designed to last. It can be used as a cot right from birth, then later as a toddler bed, and then to become a junior bed (toddler guard rails are available separately). It was a bit difficult for our panel to turn the cot into a bed however, their other half of the panel said it was easy and took less than five minutes. It's more expensive than other models, but you'll want to keep it for your children as they get older.
