UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and require replacement. In this case, it is essential that the new handles match the critical dimensions of the previous handle.

The three measurements to check are the top screw's location the lever and key hole dimensions. Use the size guide to help you.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made from durable materials, and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline and they utilize the same spindle and screws to fix them. They can be easily mounted on new or existing uPVC/Composite door.

The spring lever design allows the handle to be placed and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This ensures that the quality of finish and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever can be cut to fit a wider range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further away from the door. A shortened lever can also be used on doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles that are commonly found on doors. These handle types can either work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are generally used on UPVC double glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200,000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes, including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with an outstanding performance and durability to serve its intended use.

All UPVC lever pads for handles come with a spindle, screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres permit a larger handle, which is often beneficial when replacing an old or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have springs, which eliminate the problem of door uvpc window handles that sag out of horizontal position when not being used.

It is essential to match up the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement may also be referred to as 'handle centres or cylinder centre'. It is important to match the right handles.

After you have identified the correct PZ size it is important to ensure that the push and lever pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. These are typically rectangular or round in design with an internal lever as well as an external door handles and locks push pad.

The majority of UPVC Lever Pads we sell are sprung. This means they return to a horizontal state when not being used, rather than hanging and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from entering a home. Also, the majority of UPVC handle lever pad style handles are handed which allows you to place them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. The cylinder lock is operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to those in the lock, and permit them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is essential. It is based on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. For instance, doors that are external must be secured with an extra secure cylinder, while doors inside can be secured with a standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To make sure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place, but in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to measure. It is crucial to not have a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

Most modern cylinders are made with bump and anti-drill features built into their design. These are designed to reduce the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This will help to deflect the attack and keep your doors safe.

Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the lock's break line and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than opening the door with multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a break-in which could hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned within the base of your door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their original position after usage. In the past, a lot of handles of this kind didn't have a spring built into them, and as a result, they tend to droop or drop once the locking window handles mechanism is disengaged. This simple part is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also prevents your door from getting stuck in either the closed or open position as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a spring multipoint lock. They won't work with unsprung handles and you'll have to cut a hole in the backplate to allow them to fit. (Please see the image for a more detailed diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes within the backplates of door handles of numerous kinds of uPVC doors. They have an elongated square that allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and they are supplied individually.
