Diablo 4 Item Upgrades

item upgrader upgrades are upgrade item components that can be slotted into armor, weapons or trinkets to offer a bonus. They usually have a higher cost and require the item to be at an appropriate level.

Items that have very high requirements generally don't see much value in being upgraded. This is particularly relevant for items such as the Titans of eth that don't have much variation.

Glyphs

After reaching the 50th level in Diablo 4, Blizzard's action RPG changes its focus from its simple campaign to the final game. This is the time when things start to change, with players being pushed into the Paragon Board leveling system, Nightmare Dungeons and new grinds to ensure that their character's build is as robust as it can be.

Glyphs play an important part in this process. Glyphs' stats and effect radius on the Paragon Board are boosted by increasing their upgrade item level. There are a handful of ways to gain these upgrades, but the majority of players will rely on the primary method: raiding Faction Crypts.

Glyphs lets you add symbols to your text. You can choose them from the menu to the left-hand side of the screen. The panel initially displays glyphs in the font that your cursor is located however, you can also view a different font or type style, and you can reduce the number of glyphs to a subset by choosing an option from the options below the Entire Font (for instance Punctuation shows only punctuation symbols). When you hover your mouse over any glyph, you'll be able to see its CID/GID and Unicode value in a tooltip.

After you've entered a few glyphs, the Glyphs panel will keep the track of the last 35 distinct ones you used and make them available under Recently Used on the first row of the panel (you must expand the panel to see all 35). You can also remove them from this list by right-clicking, or Control-clicking, a glyph in the list and selecting Remove From Recent Glyphs.

Another feature of the Glyphs panel is that it allows you to create and modify the glyph set you want to use, which is beneficial when you need to write certain types of text often. This will save you the hassle of manually inserting each glyph when you require it.

A custom glyph can be made up of a maximum of 30 glyphs. This includes the base name and its suffix. The glyphs in the base name must be uppercase English letters (A-Z) as well as lowercase English letters (a-z), European digits (0-9) and underscore (_). The suffix can also include ligatures or contextual alternatives. These are special variants that combine two or more letters into one glyph.

Reroll Tokens

Upgrades are the primary mechanic that provides extra bonuses to items, like more stats. They come in different types: reroll levels up, recycle and reroll. Each type provides a different set of bonuses that are added to the item.

Reroll Tokens allow players to alter an item's base power and the number of upgrades available as well as be used to reroll ring substats. This can be beneficial if an Item upgrade's fully upgraded (or "potential") power is less than the player would like or if the item upgrader's current substats are not ideal.

Rerolling an item is costing 1 token and will reset the upgrades, but keep the rarity, set and level unaffected. Leveling an item up increases its level and with each tier, the primary stat is boosted by +3, and a random extra stat is boosted alongside it. The level of an item is increased by 1 when you raise an item to the highest achievable level.

The Blueprint Desk allows players to purchase new appliances, ingredients, and Decorations for their restaurant. Blueprints are provided at the beginning of each Preparation Phase. They appear as envelopes which can be opened by pressing Grab. Each blueprint comes with its own icon, and each category of upgradeable item upgrader displays a different icon:

Certain recipes require certain ingredients or appliances which can be purchased by selecting a Franchise Card from the Blueprint Desk. Some Appliances and Inputs are staples, meaning they won't be sold in the Shop or on rerolls while others have a higher likelihood of appearing if an appropriate franchise card is selected at the Blueprint Desk. This is called the Staple Pool, and the items in it will remain in the pool for the duration of the run. Similarly, non-staple Equipment is transferred to the Seed Pool when it is purchased from the Blueprint Desk.

Recycled Items

The magic happens when you use the third "R," recycling. You can help the environment by recycling a product made from recycled materials. This is because the majority of products that are recycled go back to the original manufacturer to be remanufactured into another product. We refer to this as "closing of the recycling loop."

When someone puts something in their curbside recycling bin it is taken to a Materials Recovery Facility where it is separated and sorted. Then, it is transferred to manufacturers who can re-make the item. Remade products include:

This process reduces the necessity to harvest, grow or extract raw materials to make something else. This reduces the damage caused to nature. Less trees are chopped down, rivers are diverted, and wild animals are displaced. This also reduces pollution from the disposal of raw materials into our soil, water and air.

Recycling products can help keep local businesses and jobs thriving particularly for those who specialize in recycling materials. This is because the demand for these products encourages companies to participate in this environmentally friendly effort.

The last reason to purchase recycled items is that it requires less energy to create new items out of recycled materials than to create them from raw materials. This is due to the manufacturing process of creating a brand new aluminum can requires 95% more energy than the production of an identical aluminum can from recycled material. Every little amount is important.

Leveling

Most units can be upgraded, which gives them extra XP each time they attack or are attacked. The XP used for this is used to unlock upgrades or increase the stats of the unit. Weapons are an excellent example of this, as they can be leveled up, increasing their damage and range.

Most levels require a certain amount of levels to be achieved but this may differ from game to game. The use of materials or coins is the only way to level up. The majority of systems use both to increase the level of an item, however certain systems only make use of one or the other.

In many games, leveling up can be an issue because it makes certain units too powerful while other units are unable to be competitive. Limiting the amount of leveling a player is allowed to perform will force them into deciding what they want to upgrade and why.
