The handles on your doors are worn out over time and need to be replaced. It is essential to keep the same dimensions as the old handles when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle or lever is a modern-day door handle designed to work with new or replacement doors. This style door handle is available in a wide range of designs and finishes. This handle is offered by several manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The uPVC/Composite door handles are made of robust materials and are suitable for multi-point lock doors that require a strong design. The window handles for upvc are inline and they utilize the same screws and spindle to fix them. They can be easily installed on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.

The spring lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This ensures that the finish is of high quality and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever is adjustable to fit a broad range of locks. This is useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is further away from the door. A shorter lever is an ideal choice for doors where the latch could be activated by the thumb turn inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handles are operated by one spindle, or two spindles, either inline or offset. They are generally employed on UPVC double glazed doors. They are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200k cycles and are available in various finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm allow for a bigger handle, which is often beneficial when replacing an old or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. These levers for handles are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles that slide from their horizontal position when they are not being used.

When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement may also be referred to as 'handle centres' or cylinder centres'. It is important for matching the correct uvpc window handles.

Once you have the proper PZ size, you'll need to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are of a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compatible handles you need for your doors. These are typically of a round or square shape with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads that we sell are spring-loaded. This means they can be reverted to a horizontal position after not in use instead of hanging, and possibly sticking in the frame. This keeps draughts out of the property. It is also the case that the majority of the UPVC lever pad handles are swivel which allows you to place them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are found on upvc sliding door handle and other kinds of doors. They operate by using a key that unlock a cylinder case that is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with those in the lock body and permitting them to turn a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

Choosing the right cylinder is crucial; it depends on the way your doors and handles are utilized. For example, external doors require a higher security cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to the end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable measure it using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. It is essential to not have a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The majority of modern cylinders have been constructed with anti-drill and bump resistance features that are built into their design. They are designed to minimize the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This can help deflect the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a growing type of attack on cylinders, where the break line inside the lock is attacked with a special tool to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is faster and more straightforward than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves no evidence of a break-in, which can impede the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits within the base of the door handle backplate, providing a spring solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their rest position after usage. Previously a lot of handles of this kind didn't have a spring built into them, and as a result, they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism has been disengaged. This simple feature is among the best ways to correct this and it is also an effective way to keep your upvc doors from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't always simple to close manually.

The spring cassettes were made to be used with sprung multipoint lock. They are not compatible with handles that aren't sprung, and you will have to cut a hole in the backplate to allow them to fit. (Please check the image for a more detailed diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature a square cut out which can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and they are supplied individually.
