World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item upgrader of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with an initial level and a totally different set of bonus bonuses.
