What is an Upgrade Item in Genshin Impact?

Upgrade items are a special type of item upgrader kit that can make certain Pokemon evolve. They can be obtained by spinning Pokestop discs, or as rewards for events that are related to evolution.

They can be incorporated into weapons, armor trinkets, weapons, or gathering tools to provide additional stats or effects. Some upgrades can have a decorative effect.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armors and trinkets to provide a bonus effect or a special feature while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, looted, obtained as rewards, or even dropped. Upgrade components are required to be higher than the item they will be added to. Most require that the item be equipped with an upgrade slot. Upgrade components can be replaced by other upgrade components, excluding for glyphs and inscriptions which can only be removed or added.

Gems, infusions, and enrichments are the most frequently used upgrade components. Gems are upgrade components that can be placed in any equipment, and they provide less benefits than other upgrade components. Infusions and enrichments are specific upgrade components that can only be added to ascended gear that is not an ampulet as well as some legendary equipment. They can be retrieved from the equipment they're in using an Upgrade Extraction Device or by salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Other upgrade options, such as glyphs and inscriptions, can be added or removed from gathering tools. They can offer a variety of bonuses, such as increasing the speed of gathering or adding more materials. Inscriptions can also alter the name of an item, for example changing an item's name to 'Fiery Sword' by adding an Sword Pommel Of Fortitude inscription, or adding an Rune of Minor Vigor suffix to make it 'Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor'.

Glyphs

Glyphs are character symbols that represent a particular concept or idea. For instance, a glyph could be an icon or a drawing of a flag or heart. These symbols can be used to create an entire visual language. A glyph may also have a standard code that is used across fonts to indicate it. This code is called a Unicode.

A glyph is a shape that determines which Primary Stats it can be added to and which Secondary Stats it can have added. Certain glyphs come with both Primary Stats and Secondary Stats bonuses while others only have one. The glyphs with both secondary and primary stats will add to the stats of the entire unit, while ones with just one Primary Stat bonus multiply the stats.

Utilizing glyphs is simple. Simply hold and click on the text insertion point to show the Glyphs panel. Select a glyph to insert. View All Glyphs lets you view an entire list of glyphs. The glyphs are listed in the order of their Unicode code, and you can select the one you wish to add by clicking it.

When you create a glyph set, the file is saved along with other InDesign preferences and is able to be shared. The glyphs are not tied to any particular document and can be edited by clicking Edit Glyphs Set from the Glyphs Panel menu. You can also specify if the glyphs should remember their fonts when you insert them in text.

Rare glyphs are very important for your build and you should begin farming them as soon as possible. They are often found in World Tier 3 dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, and other endgame content. They are much simpler to collect than the difficult shards you can collect from crafting items, and they offer a better upgrade to your equipment. Additionally, the fact that they can be applied to a variety of items means that you can boost the defense and damage of your equipment without spending too many shards.

Rerolling

Rerolling in Genshin Impact is a popular method of play, as it increases the odds of players obtaining the most effective characters and weaponry. It involves creating an entirely new account, then taking advantage of launch rewards or pre-registration. This gives players another chance to collect random items. It isn't without risk.

The game has a variety of upgrade items that can enhance the capabilities of an entire unit. They include armor, weapon, and rings that can be upgraded. Upgrades increase the physical power of armors and weapons while rings boost the health of a character's overall. Players can also purchase Corkian amplifiers, which can boost the effectiveness of upgrades.

A player can also roll their items to reroll in addition to these upgrades. Rerolling an item equipped resets the item's base power, the number of upgrades and chooses random substats. This is beneficial if the item upgrading's fully-upgraded power is less than what's desired, or if a player wishes to change the substats of the item level upgrade.

To reroll an item, the player must first open its upgrade component. This can be accomplished by pressing the box icon on the main screen of the game to open the item window. The player will then be able to select up to six items to "recycle". The item will be given an upgrade component that will be of a random rarity, level and stat.

When the item upgrader kit is renewed, the player will need to pay a fee to complete the process. The cost will increase based on the rarity and level of the upgrade component. The player has to repeat the process to unlock additional upgrades.

Before submitting the patch it's important to test it locally. This will help you identify any conflicts that require resolution. If the patch doesn't have any conflicts, it can be merged with the upstream branch. The patch should then be uploaded into an issue. It's also helpful to make an unambiguous diff, which will make it easier for other developers to look over the patch.
